Arken Hotel & Art Garden Spa sits on the edge of the rocks by Gothenburg harbour, about 15 minutes by car from the centre according to the operator. Art Garden Spa has indoor and outdoor saunas and hot springs, two warm outdoor pools, a cold spring, light and dark relaxation rooms and a sauna oasis with stone, steam and salt saunas.
A visit starts with Japanese ablution, and guests move around in a bathrobe and slippers over their swimwear. The operator stresses stillness and calm; mobile phones and alcohol are not allowed in the spa area. You can come with a day spa ticket or a package with an overnight stay.
