About
Römertherme Baden is a thermal spa in Baden near Vienna under what the operator calls Europe's largest free-hanging glass roof. The outdoor pool is filled with sulphur healing water from Baden's springs; the water area is about 900 m² and includes a sports pool, a vitality pool, a children's pool, a whirlpool and a pool with massage jets.
The sauna world has two classic Finnish saunas, an outdoor Swiss pine sauna, a bio sauna with colour therapy, a Roman aroma steam bath, a eucalyptus and a brine steam bath, and an infrared cabin. A fitness centre sits under the same roof.

The sauna rules (a PDF from May 2024) give the sauna as 10:00–21:30 in winter and 9:00–21:30 during summer school holidays, which differs slightly from the main opening-hours page; confirm the times with the operator before visiting.

Prices are valid from 1 Oct 2026 to 30 Sep 2027. Special tariff I covers seniors 60+, people with disabilities, young people, groups and ÖAMTC members. Children aged 5–14 have their own tariff and children up to 4 enter free. A lost chip watch costs €65. Family tickets and membership cards are also offered.

Rules and good to know
- Children up to 6 are not admitted to the sauna; children and teenagers under 16 only with an adult
- In the sauna cabins and steam baths the sauna rules ask guests to go without swimwear; the body may be wrapped in a towel or sauna kilt
- Shower before the first sauna session and use a large enough towel as a base in the cabin
- Smoking and alcohol are banned in the sauna and steam area; food only in the restaurants
- Photographing or filming other people without consent is strictly forbidden
Getting there
The spa is at Brusattiplatz 4, right by the main square and the Green Market in Baden, 26 km south of Vienna.
By car take the A2 (exit Baden) or A1–A21 (exit Mayerling); a car park is directly in front of the building.
By train to Baden station, then the Badener Lokalbahn (Josefsplatz) or a bus.
