BEATUS is a wellness hotel in Merligen on Lake Thun. According to the operator it has 277 metres of private lakeshore, an outdoor brine pool (Solbad) at 35 °C with a lake view, and an indoor spring-water pool of 16 × 8 m (29 °C). The Solbad is not a classic thermal bath but warm salt water from natural brine.
Day guests can buy brine-pool entry, with the Classic sauna world added if they wish, or a Day Spa package. The Classic sauna area has three steam baths, a sanarium and a Finnish sauna, with cooling directly in the lake; the second area, Bamboo, is reserved for hotel guests.

- Guests who prefer swimwear can use the indoor and outdoor pools
- Teenagers aged 16 to 18 may enter the sauna area only with an adult
- Fitness: from age 12 with an adult, from 16 on their own; sports clothing and indoor sports shoes are required
- Bathrobe and towels are not part of the basic entry
Getting there
By car on the A6, exit Thun-Nord/Gunten, then along Lake Thun to Merligen (about 1.5 h from Basel, 1.75 h from Zurich)
Bus 21 runs from Thun station every half hour; the BEATUS stop is at the door
The hotel has its own boat landing served by BLS
