Stabio Terme

Thermal baths & spa towns

About

Stabio Terme is a spa and rehabilitation centre in Stabio in the canton of Ticino. According to the operator it is the only spring in Ticino recognised by the Federal Office of Public Health for the healing properties of its water. The water is classified as sulphurous, saline-bromo-iodine.

The offer centres on a thermal pool, physiotherapy, mud treatments, inhalation and a salt cave, plus a gym and classes in thermal water. The operator states that the spa therapies are reimbursed by health insurers. The website also lists a cryosauna and an infrared cabin, but this is primarily a health-oriented spa.

  • Thermal pool and water exercise with a physiotherapist (water around 34 °C)
  • Mud therapy, baths and inhalation
  • Salt cave of about 10 m², suitable for infants too
