Steam on the water - Sauna Public
Sauna
About
Steam on the Water is a cooperative project of outdoor saunas on the Riviera by Lake Geneva. The public sauna in La Tour-de-Peilz stands on the La Maladaire beach and campsite; according to the operator it is a large wood-fired sauna on a trailer, heated with locally sourced wood, with big windows onto the lake and mountains and room for over 20 people.
The site includes a hut serving herbal teas included in the entry, changing rooms, toilets and showers, a yurt for resting (massage can be booked) and a private barrel sauna for groups of up to 6. The operator says Aufguss ceremonies take place in the saunas. It also runs a second sauna in Vevey.
