About
Therme St. Kathrein is a thermal spa in Bad Kleinkirchheim in Carinthia, Austria, at over 1,000 m above sea level in the Nockberge. According to the operator all pools are filled 100% with thermal water (an akratotherme), and the spa has a 25 m swimming pool, an adventure pool, outdoor pools with a lawn and a slide.
The sauna world is for guests aged 16 and over. It has the Nockberge event sauna arena, a steam bath, Finnish saunas indoors and outdoors, a bio herbal sauna, a sauna garden and a rest lounge with a fireplace. Aufguss sessions are led by sauna masters according to a daily programme.

Maintenance closure: the spa and sauna are closed from 30 March to 15 April 2027. Aufguss sessions follow the current programme on the website.

Tickets are sold only at the cash desk on site; reservations are not possible. If you exceed your time, a surcharge applies per started half hour (€2 adult and youth, €1.50 child, €3.50 sauna). The operator also offers family packages with a 10% discount and annual and half-year cards. Rental prices (bathrobe, towel) differ between pages of the operator's site, so they are left out.

By car: the free public car park Therme St. Kathrein is a few minutes' walk from the spa (behind Hotel Explorer), with paid EV charging points
By bus: the Therme St. Kathrein stop is right at the entrance (lines 5140 and 5144), with regular connections from Villach and Spittal an der Drau
By train: to Villach or Spittal/Millstätter See, then by bus
The nearest airport is Klagenfurt, about 50 km away; Ljubljana and Salzburg are alternatives
