About
Aquariohm is a swimming and sauna complex in Mücke in the Vogelsberg region of Hesse. According to the operator, a citizens' cooperative (Bürgergenossenschaft) has run it for over ten years; it saved the indoor pool and added a sauna world.
The indoor area offers a Finnish sauna (about 90 °C), a steam bath (45 °C), a mild Sanarium (60 °C) and an infrared cabin. Outside are the Finnish earth sauna Maa (95–110 °C) and a large event sauna for 35–40 guests with aufguss ceremonies. A sauna garden with a natural pond, a sensory path and relaxation rooms overlooking the Vogelsberg completes it.

Sauna entry closes 60 minutes before closing time; the pools close 30 minutes before the end of opening hours. The long sauna night is held on every second Saturday of the month from October to March, 12:00 to 24:00. Some holidays have special hours; the operator's website lists the current ones.

Getting there
Because of a full road closure between Merlau and Nieder-Ohmen (since 31 August 2026, according to the operator until late summer 2027), do not follow a satnav blindly and approach via Nieder-Ohmen
From the A 5 motorway take the Mücke exit and head straight towards Nieder-Ohmen
From Alsfeld on the B 49 turn off at Merlauer Kreuz towards Atzenhain and, just before the motorway slip road, towards Nieder-Ohmen; from Grünberg and Gießen on the B 49 turn off at Lehnheimer Kreuz towards Atzenhain
