Vulkantherme

Thermal baths & spa towns

About

VulkanTherme is a thermal spa pool with healing water in Herbstein in the Vogelsberg region of Hesse, run by the town. According to the operator, "Hesse's highest healing spring" has flowed from over 1,000 m deep since 1976, at 32.6 °C and beneficial for the musculoskeletal system.

The complex includes VulkanSauna: a low-temperature, high-humidity steam bath, a classic Finnish sauna, a bio sauna with scents and aromatherapy and an outdoor block sauna. Cooling comes from an ice fountain, experience showers and a plunge pool, and the operator says aromatic infusions (Aufguss) are held several times a day. There is also a large glass facade, relaxation zones with terraces and a lawn, and a bistro-café.
