butcher's heat
Sauna
About
Butcher's Heat is a Copenhagen sauna project with two saunas: a stationary waterside sauna at Margretheholmen (Refshaleøen) and a mobile SaunaTruck, a converted military personnel carrier formerly used by the Danish Frogman Corps, with a wood stove. According to the operator, the Margretheholmen sauna is open daily to members, and anyone else can book a place at a saunagus session.
According to the operator, saunagus is aromatherapy in the sauna: a sauna master works pure essential oils on the hot stones and swirls scent and heat around with a towel (an aufguss). A session lasts about an hour, with three rounds of 10–12 minutes and breaks in between for water, snacks and a dip. The site also offers private events and a children's saunagus.

- Mobile SaunaTruck with a wood stove, for about 12 people
- Saunagus with pure essential oils, several times a week
- One-year adult membership 3,300 kr.
