Emser Kränchen
Thermal baths & spa towns
About
Emser Kränchen is the best-known healing spring of the spa town of Bad Ems in Rhineland-Palatinate. According to the town's tourism website it is a fluoride-containing sodium-hydrogen carbonate-chloride thermal acidulous water, traditionally used for respiratory and bronchial complaints. It is located in the historic Brunnenhalle, the pump room.
In the Brunnenhalle three springs rise side by side: the Kesselbrunnen, the Kaiserbrunnen and the Emser Kränchen. Guests stroll from spring to spring with a glass and drink where they like it best; the Emser Kränchen can be tasted free of charge, says the site. This is not a pool or sauna facility but a drinking cure and a look at the historic spa setting.
