Freizeitbad Tatami is a municipal indoor pool with a sauna in Schmölln, Thuringia, run by Stadtwerke Schmölln. According to the operator it offers over 400 m² of water: a four-lane 25 m swimming pool at 28 °C, a non-swimmer pool at 32 °C and a children's pool with water features. In summer an outdoor pool is open too, but it cannot be combined with entry to the indoor pool and sauna.

The Japanese-style sauna area has four saunas according to the operator: an indoor Japanese cherry blossom sauna (60 °C) and a scented sauna (80 °C), and in the garden a Yakisugi sauna (a Japanese-style fireplace sauna) and an infusion sauna. There are also rest rooms, cold showers, two plunge pools and a sauna bar.

Opening hours

The hours apply to the indoor pool and the sauna. During Thuringian school holidays and on public holidays it is open daily 11:00–21:00 (Wednesdays from 7:00 for early swimming). On Thuringian public holidays the Wednesday sauna is mixed. On Friday 27 Nov 2026 the sauna is open only 13:00–17:00 because of the Langer Saunaabend event, after that only for event guests.

Prices

According to the operator you always pay the cheapest tariff, as the wristband records your time and whether you used the pool or the sauna. Reduced rates apply to children up to 15 and people with a disability of 80 % or more; the family rate covers parents with children or grandparents with grandchildren (children up to 15). Using the restaurant extends your stay by 30 minutes free. Prepaid discount cards and gift vouchers also exist.
