Sauna v lese (Sauna in the Forest) is a self-service Finnish sauna in a quiet forest near the village of Iliašovce and the Sans Souci summer house in Slovakia. According to the operator it was created to combine nature, rest and regeneration. It is rented for a pre-booked time slot.
It has two parts: a resting room and the sauna itself with a wood-burning stove. One of the sauna's four walls is glazed, with a view of the forest. For cooling there is a tub fed continuously by water from a local stream. Guests light the fire themselves and receive detailed instructions by e-mail.

Rules and good to know
- The renter (buyer) must be at least 18
- Park at the football pitch car park in Iliašovce and walk to the sauna along the marked path
- According to the operator, sitting on a cotton sheet is advised and sauna in swimwear is not recommended
- Handling fire outside the stove, smoking and drinking alcohol in the sauna are forbidden
- Ash and embers stay in the stove; before leaving, close the stove door, push in the ash tray, switch off the light and lock up
- Never pull out the cord that drains the cooling tub
Getting there
The sauna lies in the forest near Iliašovce and the Sans Souci summer house. Park at the football pitch car park in Iliašovce and continue on foot along the marked path; driving onto the cycle path is prohibited.
