About
Solbad Schönbühl is a natural brine spa near Bern run by Aqua Spa Resorts. According to the operator it is the largest natural brine bath in Switzerland: over 600 m² of water, indoor and outdoor pools with 35 °C water, bubble loungers, massage jets, underwater music and a Mediterranean park oasis.
The sauna world has four saunas (Finnish, bio, the Earth-Fire sauna with fireplace and an outdoor panorama aufguss sauna) and a herbal steam bath, with an aufguss every hour. It also has experience showers, a plunge pool, a fireplace relaxation room, a sauna garden and a lounge. Saunas and steam rooms are textile-free and for ages 16 and over; on Thursdays the spa is reserved for women.

Bathing ends 30 minutes before closing time. On Thursdays (except holidays) the spa is reserved for women; men have access only for massages. Closed 20 June to 4 July 2027 for maintenance. Special hours: 24, 25 and 31 December 2026 8:00–18:00, 1 January 2027 10:00–22:00.

Things to keep in mind
- Entry cannot be reserved and there may be waits on busy days
- Sauna and spa are 16 and over; children 4–15 may use the pools only until 17:00 with an adult
- Shouting, splashing, diving and balls or goggles are not allowed in the pools
- The spa is women-only on Thursdays
- Closed for maintenance from 20 June to 4 July 2027

Rules and good to know
- Swimwear is compulsory in the bath area; no underwear under swimwear, no street clothes or shoes
- Saunas and steam rooms (except the textile steam bath in the NaturSolebad) are textile-free, from age 16
- The sauna is mixed; on Thursdays the spa circuit is women only, while the sauna and pools stay open to everyone
- Showering before bathing is compulsory; in the public area shower in swimwear
- Bags are not allowed in the facility; food and drink only in designated areas

By RBS train to the Schönbühl stop, then 2 minutes on foot following the Solbad signs
By car take the Schönbühl motorway exit towards Urtenen-Schönbühl and follow the brown Solbad signs; parking subject to availability
